Job Description
As a Contracting Officer at Lockheed Martin, you will play a pivotal role in managing contracts that support critical defense and aerospace programs. This position requires a deep understanding of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with program teams, legal, and finance departments. You will be responsible for the full contract lifecycle, from proposal support and negotiation to administration and closeout, ensuring compliance and successful program execution. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer a portfolio of complex government contracts, ensuring compliance with FAR, DFARS, and company policies.
- Lead or support contract negotiations, including terms and conditions, pricing, and scope changes.
- Provide expert guidance on contractual matters to program management and functional teams.
- Prepare, review, and negotiate various contractual documents, including proposals, subcontracts, and modifications.
- Identify and mitigate contractual risks, working closely with legal and program teams.
- Support audits and compliance reviews related to contract performance.
- Maintain accurate and complete contract files and records.
- Participate in proposal development by reviewing solicitations and preparing contractual volumes.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal government contracting.
- Thorough knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
- Proven experience in contract negotiation, administration, and closeout.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD).
- Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with various contract types (e.g., FFP, CPFF, T&M).
- Prior experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) agencies.
