Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistants to join our dynamic team in Quebec City. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Help with feeding, monitor food and fluid intake, and assist with special diets as required.
- Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and report changes to nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment for patients.
- Assist with patient transfers and repositioning using appropriate lifting techniques and equipment.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, promoting a positive and respectful environment.
- Document care provided and observations accurately and in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Caregiver, or similar role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
- Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Proficiency in French or willingness to learn (training provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Healthcare Assistant or Personal Support Worker (PSW) program.
- Experience working in a hospital or long-term care setting.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.
