Job Description

Meta Platforms, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Remote Social Media Content Moderator to join our global team. In this fully remote role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the safety and integrity of our platforms by reviewing user-generated content, enforcing community standards, and ensuring a positive user experience. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding ethical content policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and moderate user-generated content (e.g., posts, comments, images, videos) across various Meta platforms to ensure compliance with community guidelines and policies.
  • Identify and escalate complex or high-priority content issues to specialized teams for further review.
  • Apply content policies consistently and accurately, making objective decisions based on established guidelines.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of content moderation policies and processes by providing feedback and insights.
  • Stay informed about current events, online trends, and potential threats to user safety and platform integrity.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity and quality in content review while working independently in a remote environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors through virtual communication tools.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in online content moderation, customer service, or a related field (1+ year preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work setting.
  • Proficiency with various social media platforms and online communication tools.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and potentially disturbing content with discretion.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving digital environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Meta’s community standards and policies.
  • Experience with content moderation tools and systems.
  • Multilingual abilities are a plus, particularly in widely spoken languages on our platforms.
