Are you a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional with a passion for logistics and air freight operations? DHL Global Forwarding is seeking an Airport Cargo & Logistics Specialist to join our dynamic team in Hamburg. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing air cargo movements, ensuring compliance with international regulations, and providing exceptional service to our global client base. This role requires strong English communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage air cargo shipments from origin to destination, including booking, documentation, and tracking.
- Ensure strict adherence to customs regulations, international air transport association (IATA) guidelines, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with airlines, ground handlers, customs brokers, and clients to facilitate smooth operations.
- Monitor shipment status, identify potential delays, and implement proactive solutions to mitigate disruptions.
- Prepare and process accurate shipping documentation, including air waybills, customs declarations, and manifests.
- Handle customer inquiries, provide status updates, and resolve any issues related to air freight services.
- Utilize internal logistics software and systems for data entry, analysis, and reporting.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
- Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in air freight operations or airport cargo logistics (minimum 3 years).
- Excellent command of the English language (written and spoken).
- Strong understanding of international freight forwarding procedures, customs regulations, and IATA rules.
- Proficiency in using logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications
