Job Description
Commissionaires Saskatchewan is seeking dedicated and vigilant individuals to join our team as Court Security Officers. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining order, ensuring the safety of all court participants, and protecting court property within the judicial environment. This position requires a strong commitment to public safety, excellent observational skills, and the ability to respond effectively to various security situations. You will work closely with court staff, law enforcement, and the public to uphold the integrity and security of the judicial process.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control access to courtrooms and restricted areas.
- Conduct security screenings of individuals entering court facilities.
- Maintain order and decorum within courtrooms and premises.
- Respond to security alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations.
- Provide assistance and direction to the public, legal professionals, and court staff.
- Conduct regular patrols of court facilities to identify and address security risks.
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and security breaches.
- Operate and monitor security equipment, including CCTV and metal detectors.
- Escort individuals as required within the court facilities.
Required Skills
- Valid Saskatchewan Security Guard Licence
- Minimum 2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field
- Excellent observational and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in written and verbal English
- Basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a court, government, or institutional security setting
- Knowledge of relevant legal procedures and protocols
- Completion of a recognized security training program
- Ability to speak French is an asset
