Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS Specialist to join our dynamic team in Charleston, SC. This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and managing robust cloud solutions on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in various AWS services, cloud architecture best practices, and a strong understanding of scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud deployments. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications to the AWS environment.
- Monitor AWS infrastructure for performance, security, and cost optimization, implementing necessary adjustments.
- Develop and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices across all AWS deployments.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Participate in on-call rotations for critical incident response and resolution.
- Stay up-to-date with new AWS services and features, evaluating their potential for enhancing existing solutions.
- Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of AWS resources.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.).
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in a cloud environment.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS).
- Familiarity with serverless architectures and microservices.
- Experience in a consulting environment.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
