Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Medical Secretary to join our dynamic team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This crucial role provides administrative support to medical staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic or department. The ideal candidate will be proficient in medical terminology, patient scheduling, and general office procedures, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to patient privacy. Key Responsibilities
- Manage patient scheduling, appointments, and medical records with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Greet patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and assistance.
- Handle incoming calls, direct inquiries, and manage correspondence.
- Process patient registrations, insurance verifications, and billing information.
- Prepare examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and adequate supplies.
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) and assist with data entry.
- Coordinate with other departments and medical professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Assist with inventory management of office and medical supplies.
- Handle general administrative duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Medical Secretary or similar administrative role in a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare procedures, and confidentiality regulations (HIPAA).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Medical Office Administration or a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) or similar.
- Experience with Epic or similar large-scale EHR systems.
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
