Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Food Factory Sanitation Specialist to join our team in Fargo, North Dakota. This crucial role ensures our food processing facilities meet and exceed the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, which are paramount to food safety and product quality. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing comprehensive cleaning and sanitizing procedures for all production equipment, machinery, and general facility areas in accordance with strict HACCP, GMP, and other regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitizing of production equipment, machinery, and tools using approved chemicals and methods.
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment as needed for deep cleaning.
- Clean and sanitize floors, walls, ceilings, and other facility surfaces in production and common areas.
- Monitor chemical concentrations and ensure proper usage for effective sanitation and safety.
- Operate various cleaning equipment, including high-pressure hoses, scrubbers, and foamers.
- Follow all safety protocols, including Lock-out/Tag-out procedures and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Document cleaning activities and maintain accurate sanitation records.
- Identify and report any maintenance issues, sanitation concerns, or potential hazards.
- Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with production and quality assurance teams to minimize downtime and maintain hygiene standards.
Required Skills
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe handling.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, lift up to 50 lbs, and stand for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in sanitation, cleaning, or a related field, preferably in a food manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety principles.
- Experience operating industrial cleaning equipment.
