Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scrum Master to join our dynamic technology team in Canary Wharf, London. This role is crucial for fostering agile principles and practices within our development squads, ensuring efficient delivery of high-quality software solutions. The successful candidate will facilitate scrum ceremonies, remove impediments, coach team members, and promote a culture of transparency and continuous improvement, particularly within projects impacting our core financial services applications. Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Coach and mentor development teams, product owners, and other stakeholders on Agile principles and Scrum best practices.
- Identify and remove impediments to the team's progress, escalating when necessary.
- Promote self-organization and cross-functionality within the development team.
- Track and communicate team velocity and sprint progress.
- Work closely with Product Owners to ensure a well-groomed and prioritized product backlog.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team.
- Protect the team from external interruptions and distractions, enabling focus and flow.
Required Skills
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Scrum Master for a software development team.
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and various Scrum techniques.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to resolve conflicts and manage complex stakeholders.
- Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Scrum certifications (e.g., A-CSM, SAFe Scrum Master).
- Experience working in the financial services or FinTech industry.
- Familiarity with scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS).
- Experience with distributed teams and remote collaboration tools.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps practices.
