Job Description

Toledo Public Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher specializing in Biology to join our vibrant academic community. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging and effective biology lesson plans and instructional materials aligned with state standards.
• Instruct students in various biological concepts, including cell biology, genetics, evolution, ecology, and human anatomy/physiology.
• Create a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student participation, critical thinking, and a love for science.
• Assess student learning through a variety of methods, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student achievement and well-rounded development.
• Participate in professional development activities, faculty meetings, and school-wide initiatives.
• Supervise students in various school settings and adhere to all school policies and procedures.
• Integrate technology effectively into classroom instruction to enhance learning experiences.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Science Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching license/certification in Biology (or eligibility to obtain one in Ohio).
• Demonstrated knowledge of biological principles and scientific teaching methodologies.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and colleagues.
• Commitment to continuous professional growth and development.
• Eligibility for visa sponsorship in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Biology or Education.
• Prior experience teaching high school biology.
• Experience with diverse learners and differentiated instruction strategies.
