Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cryptologist to join our advanced technology team in Cleveland, Ohio. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the research, design, development, and implementation of cryptographic solutions to secure our next-generation systems and communications. You will work on challenging problems, contributing to projects that have a significant impact on national security and defense. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and analyze cryptographic algorithms and protocols for various applications.
  • Perform security analysis and vulnerability assessments of existing and proposed cryptographic systems.
  • Implement cryptographic solutions in software and hardware, ensuring high standards of security and performance.
  • Conduct research into advanced cryptographic techniques, quantum-resistant cryptography, and other emerging areas.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to integrate cryptographic solutions into larger systems.
  • Generate comprehensive documentation for cryptographic designs, analyses, and implementations.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in cryptography, cybersecurity, and related fields.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on cryptographic issues to internal teams and external partners.

Required Skills

  • Strong theoretical and practical understanding of modern cryptography (symmetric, asymmetric, hash functions, digital signatures).
  • Proficiency in number theory, abstract algebra, and computational complexity.
  • Experience with cryptographic libraries and tools (e.g., OpenSSL, Libsodium).
  • Programming proficiency in languages such as C/C++, Python, or Java.
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices and common security vulnerabilities.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate cryptographic protocols and implementations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in Cryptography.
  • Experience with hardware-based cryptographic implementations (e.g., FPGAs, ASICs).
  • Knowledge of post-quantum cryptography standards and research.
  • Experience in reverse engineering or cryptanalysis.
  • Published research in peer-reviewed cryptographic conferences or journals.
  • Active security clearance.
