Job Description
Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Public Health Advisor to join our team in Savannah, Georgia. This vital role will involve contributing to the health and well-being of the community by assessing public health needs, developing and implementing health promotion programs, and providing expert advice on public health strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public health, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for community engagement and health improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive public health needs assessments within the community.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based health promotion and disease prevention programs.
- Collaborate with community organizations, government agencies, and healthcare professionals to address public health challenges.
- Provide expert consultation and technical assistance on public health policies and practices.
- Monitor public health trends and contribute to epidemiologic surveillance activities.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and educational materials for various stakeholders.
- Advocate for public health initiatives and policies to improve community health outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant public health regulations and standards.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Public Health (MPH) or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a public health role.
- Strong understanding of public health principles, practices, and methodologies.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage health programs.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and with diverse communities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with healthcare systems or large community health organizations.
- Certifications in areas such as CPH (Certified in Public Health).
- Familiarity with health equity frameworks and social determinants of health.
- Experience in grant writing and program funding.
