Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Content Moderator – Trust & Safety Specialist to join our remote team. This role is crucial in upholding the integrity and safety of Meta’s platforms by reviewing user-generated content, identifying violations of our community standards, and making informed decisions to ensure a positive user experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of online content policies, cultural nuances, and a commitment to protecting our community from harmful content. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within Canada.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and moderate user-generated content, including text, images, and videos, against Meta's community standards and policies.
• Make accurate and consistent decisions on content violations, including removal, escalation, or approval.
• Analyze complex content issues, identify emerging trends, and provide insights to improve policy enforcement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including policy, legal, and engineering, to address content-related challenges.
• Participate in quality assurance reviews and calibration sessions to ensure consistent application of policies.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive content.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of moderation workflows and tools.

Required Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience in content moderation, trust & safety, or a related field.
• Excellent understanding of online content policies and community guidelines.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to work independently.
• High level of empathy and cultural sensitivity, with the ability to understand diverse perspectives.
• Proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and graphic content responsibly and with resilience.
• Experience with ticketing systems and content moderation tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Sociology, Law, Psychology).
• Experience working remotely in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with Meta's products and community standards.
• Fluency in an additional language (e.g., French, Spanish) relevant to the Canadian user base.
• Understanding of machine learning and AI applications in content moderation.
• Experience in policy development or enforcement.
