Job Description

Williams Companies is seeking a talented and passionate Data Scientist to join our advanced analytics team. In this role, you will leverage large datasets, sophisticated statistical methods, and machine learning techniques to extract actionable insights, build predictive models, and optimize operations across our extensive energy infrastructure network. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, and deploy predictive and prescriptive models using machine learning algorithms to solve complex business problems.
  • Analyze large, complex datasets from various sources (operational data, sensor data, market data) to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and commercial teams to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
  • Design and implement experiments to test hypotheses and measure the impact of data-driven solutions.
  • Communicate complex analytical findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, and evaluate new tools and technologies.
  • Ensure the quality, integrity, and governance of data used for analytical purposes.

Required Skills

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • 4+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in Python or R for data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
  • Expertise in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Proven experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Solid understanding of statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) for data science workflows.
  • Experience in the energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure industries.
  • Knowledge of time-series analysis and forecasting techniques.
  • Experience with MLOps principles and tools for model deployment and monitoring.
