Job Description
Are you passionate about books and eager to explore the world of publishing? Penguin Random House South Africa is offering an exciting Publishing Internship based in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across various departments within a major publishing house. You will learn the intricacies of the publishing process, from manuscript acquisition to final publication and marketing, working alongside experienced professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Assist editorial teams with manuscript reading, evaluation, and proofreading.
- Support marketing and publicity efforts, including social media content creation and event coordination.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
- Help with administrative tasks such as maintaining databases, scheduling meetings, and preparing presentations.
- Learn about rights and contracts, and assist with associated documentation.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions for new projects.
