Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Gasfitter to join our operations team in Nashua, New Hampshire. This is a full-time, on-site position for individuals passionate about maintaining critical natural gas systems and ensuring public safety. As a Gasfitter, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of natural gas lines, meters, and appliances, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and company policies. Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair natural gas service lines, mains, meters, and associated equipment.
- Perform leak detection, investigation, and repair on natural gas systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on gas infrastructure.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, federal, and company safety regulations and standards.
- Respond to emergency calls related to gas leaks or service disruptions.
- Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment specific to gas fitting.
- Complete accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and safety checks.
- Collaborate with other utility personnel, contractors, and emergency services as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service and clear communication during service calls.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Gasfitter or in a similar role involving natural gas systems.
- Thorough understanding of natural gas distribution systems and components.
- Proficiency in gas line installation, repair, and testing procedures.
- Knowledge of relevant safety codes, regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA), and industry best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain relevant certifications and licenses for gas fitting in New Hampshire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal vocational training or apprenticeship in gas fitting, HVAC, or plumbing.
- Experience with advanced leak detection equipment.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
- Experience working for a utility company or in a highly regulated environment.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or willingness to obtain one.
