Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Worker to join our ministry team in Chandler, Arizona. This vital role is designed for individuals with a strong calling to serve and who are eager to contribute to the spiritual growth and well-being of our congregation and wider community. The Pastoral Worker will assist in various aspects of church life, including pastoral care, worship support, community outreach, and spiritual formation programs. This position is open to candidates requiring visa sponsorship, demonstrating our commitment to building a diverse and globally-minded team dedicated to ministry.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral care and support to congregants, including hospital visits, home visits, and grief counseling.
• Assist in planning and leading worship services, including preaching, liturgy, and sacraments.
• Develop and implement community outreach programs to engage with local residents and serve those in need.
• Facilitate small groups, Bible studies, and discipleship programs.
• Collaborate with other ministry staff and volunteers to ensure effective program delivery.
• Participate in church-wide events and initiatives.
• Offer spiritual guidance and mentorship to individuals and families.
• Help coordinate and support volunteer teams within various ministries.
• Maintain accurate records of pastoral care interactions and ministry activities.

Required Skills

• Strong biblical knowledge and theological understanding.
• Demonstrated experience in pastoral care and counseling.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Empathy, compassion, and a genuine desire to serve others.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

• Understanding of church operations and ministry programming.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent theological degree.
• Ordination or licensure within a recognized Christian denomination.
• Experience working with diverse age groups and demographics.
• Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
• Experience in leading volunteer teams or community projects.
