Job Description

You will play a vital role in creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for children, supporting their learning and development every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and implementation of engaging and age-appropriate activities for children.
• Observe, assess, and record children's development and progress, contributing to their learning journeys.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised learning environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
• Build positive and nurturing relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, fostering a strong community.
• Adhere to all nursery policies and procedures, including robust safeguarding practices and data protection.
• Actively participate in training sessions and complete all coursework required for your Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification.
• Support children with their personal care needs, including feeding, changing, and promoting independence.
• Contribute to team meetings and collaborate effectively with other staff members to ensure high-quality childcare.

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths grades 4/C or equivalent preferred, but functional skills training can be provided if needed).

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience (even voluntary) working with children aged 0-5 years.
• Basic knowledge or understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• A clear desire to achieve a nationally recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification.
