Job Description
The University of Colorado Denver is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Scientist to join our dynamic biomedical research team. This position will play a crucial role in conducting advanced research projects focused on neurodegenerative diseases, contributing to our understanding of fundamental biological processes and the development of novel therapeutic strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing experiments, analyzing complex data, preparing manuscripts for publication, and assisting with grant applications. Key Responsibilities

- Prepare high-quality scientific manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication and present research findings at national and international conferences.
- Contribute to the development of new grant proposals and funding applications, including writing sections and preparing figures.
- Mentor and train junior researchers, graduate students, and technical staff in laboratory techniques and research methodologies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, including experimental procedures, results, and analyses.
- Ensure laboratory compliance with safety regulations, quality control standards, and institutional policies.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, both internal and external, to achieve project goals.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Immunology, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral research experience in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific writing.
- Proficiency with advanced laboratory techniques specific to the research area (e.g., cell culture, molecular biology, genomics, proteomics, animal models, microscopy).
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific information clearly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with grant writing and successful grant submissions (e.g., NIH, NSF, DoD).
