Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart a career in agriculture and enjoy working outdoors? Newport Vineyards is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our Harvest Team. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated candidates with no prior experience to learn the fundamentals of vineyard operations and contribute to the creation of award-winning wines. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the manual harvesting of grapes, following strict quality guidelines
- Perform vineyard maintenance tasks such as pruning, trellising, and canopy management
- Operate and maintain various farm equipment safely, under supervision
- Clean and sanitize tools, equipment, and work areas to maintain hygiene standards
- Participate in general farm labor and groundskeeping as needed
- Work collaboratively with the vineyard team to ensure efficient operations
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Attention to detail and a willingness to learn
- Basic communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role or outdoor work is a plus
- An interest in agriculture, viticulture, or winemaking
- Reliable transportation to and from the vineyard
