Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Consultant to join our dynamic team in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental site assessments, including Phase I and Phase II ESAs, wetland delineations, and ecological surveys.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, permits, and regulatory compliance documents.
  • Interpret and apply federal, state, and local environmental regulations (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, NEPA).
  • Develop and implement environmental management plans and risk assessments.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
  • Liaise with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff.
  • Participate in business development activities and proposal preparation.
  • Perform fieldwork, including site investigations, sampling, and monitoring, often in varied conditions.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of environmental science principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in environmental regulations and permitting processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in GIS software and environmental modeling tools.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel for fieldwork.
  • Proven experience in environmental impact assessments (EIAs).
  • Experience with data collection, analysis, and interpretation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., P.G., P.E., CHMM).
  • Experience with specific state environmental regulations in the Midwest region.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or other design software.
  • Prior consulting experience in a client-facing role.
  • Fluency in additional languages relevant to international projects.
