Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Vocational Trainer to join our team at the Moncton campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality vocational training programs, ensuring students acquire the practical skills and theoretical knowledge necessary for success in their chosen fields. This role involves curriculum development, hands-on instruction, student assessment, and continuous program improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and update curriculum materials, lesson plans, and teaching aids in alignment with industry standards and learning objectives.
- Deliver engaging and effective vocational training sessions, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques, including lectures, demonstrations, and practical exercises.
- Assess student performance through assignments, practical tests, and examinations, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students, helping them develop essential technical and professional skills.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure the relevance and quality of training programs.
- Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to enhance program content and provide real-world learning experiences.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in a specific vocational trade or field (e.g., HVAC, welding, culinary arts, automotive technology, IT networking).
- Minimum of 3 years of recent practical industry experience in the relevant vocational area.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and motivate adult learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using instructional technology and learning management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education (diploma or degree) in a relevant field.
- Teaching certification or a Certificate in Adult Education.
- Previous experience in curriculum development.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.
- Experience working with international students.
