Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Content Moderator to join our Trust & Safety team. As a Content Moderator, you will be responsible for reviewing user-generated content across various platforms to ensure compliance with our community guidelines and policies. This critical role helps maintain a safe and positive online environment for billions of users worldwide. You will be at the forefront of protecting our users from harmful content, making timely and accurate decisions, and contributing to the overall integrity of our platforms. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and moderate user-generated content, including text, images, and videos, against established community guidelines and policies.
- Make consistent and accurate decisions on content violations within specified service level agreements.
- Identify and escalate complex content issues, policy ambiguities, or emerging content trends to relevant teams.
- Participate in training and calibration sessions to ensure consistency in content moderation decisions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of content policies and moderation tools by providing feedback.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive content.
- Adapt to evolving policies, tools, and platforms in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in content moderation, trust and safety, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify nuances in content.
- Excellent decision-making skills under pressure, with the capacity to remain objective and consistent.
- Proficiency in English, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage time effectively.
- Comfortable with reviewing sensitive and potentially disturbing content on a regular basis.
- High level of resilience and emotional intelligence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Sociology, Psychology, Law).
- Experience with multiple content moderation tools and platforms.
- Familiarity with various social media platforms and online community dynamics.
- Fluency in French or other languages relevant to the Canadian market.
- Understanding of cultural, political, and social issues that influence online content.
