Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated English-Speaking Airport Operations Specialist to join our team at Munich Airport. This critical on-site role involves monitoring, coordinating, and managing daily airport operations to ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient flow of aircraft, passengers, and cargo. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and coordinate all aspects of daily airport ground operations, including aircraft turnarounds, ground handling services, and resource allocation.
• Act as a central point of contact for various airport stakeholders, including air traffic control, ground handlers, security personnel, and airline crews.
• Respond promptly and effectively to operational disruptions, emergencies, and irregular situations, implementing contingency plans to minimize impact.
• Prepare and disseminate operational reports, shift handovers, and briefings to relevant teams and management.
• Ensure strict compliance with all relevant safety regulations, company policies, and international aviation standards.
• Utilize operational systems and tools to track flights, manage resources, and maintain accurate operational data.
• Participate in operational meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for airport processes and procedures.
• Facilitate communication between different departments to ensure a cohesive operational environment.

Required Skills

• Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in airport operations, aviation logistics, or a similar highly regulated operational environment.
• Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written, is mandatory for effective international communication.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills under pressure.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and authorities.
• Proficiency in using operational software, airport management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays, as is typical for airport operations.
• Demonstrated understanding of airport safety and security regulations and procedures.
• High degree of organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Logistics, or a related field.
• Familiarity with IATA and ICAO regulations and best practices.
• Experience with specific airline operational control (AOC) systems.
• Certifications in aviation safety, security, or emergency response.
• Basic understanding of German language, although not required, would be a plus for daily life in Germany.
